The Forty One Project

The trial is forty. The project is getting to Forty One.

The idea

Forty is a season.

Throughout Scripture, forty represents a season.

  • Wilderness.
  • Waiting.
  • Testing.
  • Preparation.
  • Transformation.

Forty is the hard time. The hard year.

The season you didn't choose.

The place where life didn't go according to plan.

But forty isn't where the story has to end.

There is a Forty One.

And The Forty One Project is about becoming the person who keeps moving toward it.

What Forty One means

Forty One is movement.

Forty One isn't the magical day when everything becomes easy.

It isn't perfection.

It isn't the promise that the circumstance disappears.

It's the decision to believe there can be something beyond the season you're currently living—and to begin intentionally building toward it.

Sometimes what changes after the wilderness isn't the circumstance.

Sometimes it's you.

Either way, the forty doesn't get the final word.

Why "project"

A project is unfinished. So are we.

The Forty One Project isn't about arriving as a perfectly healed, financially free, fearless, disciplined person.

The project is you.

  • Your faith.
  • Your strength.
  • Your health.
  • Your confidence.
  • Your finances.
  • Your relationships.
  • Your purpose.
  • Your freedom.
  • Your future.

The project is the intentional work of becoming the person capable of living the life on the other side of their forty.

Our purpose

To help people believe in—and intentionally build—the life that exists beyond the season they're currently surviving.

We want people to recognize that their current circumstances may be part of their story, but they don't have to determine its ending.

Our mission

To create a movement of people who refuse to let a hard season, fear, comfort, circumstances, or someone else's definition of success determine where their story ends.

The Forty One Project exists to help people move from surviving, waiting, settling or feeling stuck into intentionally building what comes next.

Our core beliefs

What we hold to

Your forty may shape you.

It does not have to define where you stay.

You don't always get to choose your forty.

You do get to choose what you do while you're there and who you're becoming through it.

Faith matters. God's timing matters. Grace matters.

And so do decisions.

Discipline. Courage. Work. Stewardship. Getting uncomfortable. Trying again. Taking the next step when you can't see the entire road.

Because:

41 isn't a number you wait for.
It's something you move toward.

The four pillars

Faith. Becoming. Movement. Freedom.

Faith

Trust beyond what you can currently see.

The forty isn't wasted. There can be purpose in the waiting, preparation, redirection and wilderness—even when we don't understand it yet.

We don't believe surviving forty days guarantees God will give us what we want on day 41.

We believe God can use the forty to prepare us for Forty One.

Becoming

Refuse to remain who the trial found.

Hard seasons change us. The question is what we allow them to create in us.

The Forty One Project is about intentionally building strength, discipline, confidence, resilience and identity through what we've lived.

We're not simply trying to get through something. We're paying attention to who we're becoming because of it.

Movement

Take the next step before you have everything figured out.

This is the ONE in the logo. It moves. It leans forward. It refuses to remain planted beside FORTY.

Movement can be small. You don't need to see the entire path to take the next step.

See what small looks like

Freedom

Build a life with choices.

Freedom is bigger than money. It's having options.

  • Financial options
  • Time
  • Health
  • Presence
  • Purpose
  • Family
  • Legacy

Income matters because of what it can make possible—not simply because of the number in a bank account.

We want people to build lives in which circumstances don't make every decision for them. Not simply more income. More agency over your life.

Movement

Movement can be small.

You don't need to see the entire path to take the next step.

  1. One walk.
  2. One conversation.
  3. One prayer.
  4. One application.
  5. One business decision.
  6. One uncomfortable yes.
  7. One boundary.
  8. One new habit.

Your next step

What is your one?

The transformation

Stop building a permanent home in a temporary season.

We are not promising anyone a life without hard things. We're helping people stop building a permanent home inside a temporary season.

What 41 is not

Forty One isn't where hardship disappears.

  • You can reach Forty One and still have hard days.
  • You can achieve the goal and encounter another obstacle.
  • You can become stronger and still struggle.
  • You can build financial freedom and still experience uncertainty.
  • You can have tremendous faith and still have questions.

41 isn't the absence of hardship.

It's where hardship stops getting the final word.

The brand promise

Change is possible.

The Forty One Project will never tell anyone that changing their life will be easy. It will remind them that change is possible.

  • It will challenge you when you're negotiating with comfort.
  • It will encourage you when you're walking through the wilderness.
  • It will point you toward faith when you can't see what's next.
  • It will give you practical ways to create options.

And it will continually remind you:

You don't have to live forever in the place life put you.

Keep moving.

The mark

How the name is drawn

Forty

FORTY is upright. Solid. Strong.

It represents the trial, the wilderness, the waiting and everything we've had to stand through.

One

ONE changes.

It leans forward. There is movement.

41

Just beyond it.

Small, almost discovered rather than announced.

Because forty was never supposed to be the destination.

The trial is forty.

The project is getting to Forty One.

Your is coming. Move toward it.
